James Maxwell-Scott KC represents the Maritime and Coastguard Agency at The Cranston Inquiry



James Maxwell-Scott KC represented the MCA at the opening hearing of The Cranston Inquiry on 6 March 2024. This non-statutory inquiry, chaired by Sir Ross Cranston (a former Solicitor-General and retired High Court Judge), has been set up to look into the events of 24 November 2021, when at least 27 people lost their lives crossing the English Channel in a small boat. James Maxwell-Scott KC and Jack Murphy are instructed by Simon Belfield and Amanda Lea at DWF.
