New project to simplify civil procedure rules launched
The Civil Procedure Rule Committee (CPRC) is commencing a new project to simplify the rules, in accordance with its statutory duty under s.2(7) of the Civil Procedure Act 1997. As part of this, it has introduced a new rolling programme of consultation regarding proposed CPR changes.
Isabel Hitching KC is honoured to have been appointed by Birss LJ to the sub-committee chaired by Kerr J overseeing this important new project.
The first set of proposed reforms being published for consultation concern CPR Part 10 (Acknowledgment of Service) and Part 12 (Default Judgment) and can be seen here.
