Whirlpool Fire Inquest: Coroner Lewis issues Regulation 28 Report to Prevent Future Deaths
Assistant Coroner David Lewis today handed down a Regulation 28 report calling for Whirlpool to take action to prevent future deaths. He described some of Whirlpool’s evidence as “defensive and dismissive” and regretted that he “did not emerge from the hearing confident that Whirlpool’s risk assessment processes have fully identified or appreciated the extent of the risk of fire (and its potential consequences).”
Harry Lambert of Crown Office Chambers represented the Families and survivor Mr Lloyd Jones who, in the face of denials by Whirlpool, had long maintained that the dryer was the cause of the fire.
Harry Lambert is instructed by Thomas Jervis at Leigh Day.
