Chambers is one of the leading sets for industrial disease litigation, boasting many of the Bar’s leading practitioners in this area. Asbestos, stress, COSHH, work-related upper limb disorder, vibration white finger, dermatitis, asthma, cancer and deafness claims all figure widely across members’ practices. There is also a strong cross-over with our insurance, health and safety and clinical negligence practices. Across the team there is a wealth of experience dealing with complex employers’ liability claims and in particular, associated claims for personal injuries caused by workplace stress.

We are consistently involved in emerging areas of contention, such as passive smoking, pharmaceutical, toxic mould, mobile telephone, pollution, DVT and aerotoxic syndrome claims. The team prides itself on being at the forefront of dealing with the highly technical and complex aspects of law often involved in these cases.

There is a great emphasis on court work for our members and the range of first instance hearings at interlocutory and trial levels can be seen in the members profiles, ranging from the County Court to the Court of Appeal. Our members are renowned for their negotiating skills and have had huge success in concluding sensitive, high value cases at Joint Settlement Meetings.
