Product Liability
William has acted in numerous cases involving defective, or allegedly defective, products. These have included household appliances, consumer goods, building materials, plumbing fittings, vehicles, and industrial machines. He is well-versed in the relevant tests in tort and contract, and pursuant to the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
Experience includes:
- Acting for a homeowner in a claim arising from a fire caused by an electrical fault in a vacuum cleaner.
- Acting for the owners of a pub in their claim against the manufacturer of a tumble dryer which combusted, causing a substantial fire.
- Acting for a car dealership which was accused of supplying a faulty used car to a customer, causing them to suffer personal injury and financial loss.
- Acting for homeowners in their claim against the manufacturer of a plumbing fitting which failed, causing an escape of water.
- Acting for the manufacturers of an industrial machine which is said to have caused a major fire on an industrial estate.
