Inquests & Public Inquiries

Colleen has experience representing interested persons in inquests, with current and recent instructions including:

• Representing an NHS Trust in a forthcoming three-week Article 2 inquest to be held with a jury, arising out of the death by suicide of a 14-year-old looked-after child who was under the care of children and young people’s mental health services following repeated presentations with suicidal ideation and self-harm.
• Representing a care home at an inquest concerning the death of an elderly resident following a fall and subsequent deterioration from a head injury, with allegations relating to room safety and supervision. The Coroner concluded that the death was accidental and that the care home had not contributed to the resident’s death.
