Crown Office Chambers’ pupils offered tenancy

We are delighted to announce that our current pupils Alastair Bloor and Omar Jassam have both successfully completed their pupillage at Crown Office Chambers and have been offered tenancy this week.
Alastair Bloor
Prior to Pupillage, Alastair read Law at Newcastle University, graduating in 2020 with first-class honours. He was awarded the John Clark Memorial Prize and the Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Law Society Prize. Alastair went on to receive an Inner Temple scholarship and a distinction in the Bar Course, during which he won advocacy prizes at both national and international levels. Alastair previously acted as an in-house advocate for DWF LLP, dealing with insurer-backed disputes including personal injury and property damage, and worked as a file handler in Ward Hadaway LLP’s specialist social housing litigation team.
Omar Jassam
Prior to pupillage, Omar studied Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management at Nottingham Trent University, graduating with a First Class degree. He subsequently completed an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution at King’s College London, where he was awarded a Distinction and three academic awards, including best overall graduate and best dissertation, which he published in the UK Society of Construction Law.
Omar then completed the law conversion course at BPP University, where he was awarded a Distinction. He was also awarded a scholarship from Gray’s Inn for the Bar Course, which he undertook at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy. Alongside his legal studies, Omar initially worked as a quantity surveyor, predominantly in the infrastructure and oil and gas sectors. After which, he worked as a testifying expert witness, specialising in quantum matters, where he was instructed on several occasions including in international arbitrations. Omar is also recognised in the Lexology Index, including as a Future Leader in Arbitration.
