Andrew Rigney KC to speak at the Vinson & Elkins London Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Conference
5th Jan 2026
Andrew Rigney KC will be speaking at the Vinson & Elkins London Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Conference on 8 January 2026. The theme of the conference is “Next-Generation Projects, Next-Generation Challenges: Tackling the Risks of Rapid Innovation in Today’s Infrastructure Projects”.
Andrew will join a panel of distinguished speakers chaired by Nabeel Ikram (Partner in International Dispute Resolution and Arbitration, and Head of International Disputes – MENA at Vinson & Elkins) to discuss and debate the issues which arise out of live project management, focussing on how to make relationships work on a day-to-day basis, how to address problems before they escalate, and how to put in place the protections needed in the event that claims are pursued.
The panel will cover:
- The interaction between, and precedence of, quality obligations scattered across a number of contractual documents that are not back to back and the incorporation of industry standards.
- The perennial challenges of managing multiple interfaces and the unforeseen consequences of “upscaling” and “first of a kind “projects.
- The challenges of finishing a project, including the timely close-out of residual quality issues and practical completion, such as temporary disconformities, “teething issues” and defects.
