London International Disputes Week (LIDW) 2025

Crown Office Chambers was delighted to be involved in a number of excellent collaborations with friends and colleagues during LIDW last week.

Andrew Rigney KC joined Andrew Davies (Fenwick Elliott LLP), Sarah Wilson (Addleshaw Goddard LLP) and Tim Tapper (Turner & Townsend) at the Limeslade & CIOB Construction and Law Masterclass to discuss “Dispute Resolution and The Role of Legal Teams”.  The session explored the respective merits of arbitration, adjudication and litigation and how teams work together to resolve disputes.

Kim Franklin KC joined a panel comprising Sherin Aminossehe (Director of Infrastructure, Ministry of Defence), Dr Janet Young (Director General and Secretary, Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)), Rebecca Shorter (Chair, Society of Construction Law (SCL)), Amanda Clack (Partner, Regional CEO, HKA) and moderated by Emily Elliott (Senior Associate, White & Case LLP) to discuss “Breaking Barriers – Women in Construction”.  The session addressed the path to gender equality in the construction industry, and explored some of the challenges, successes, and future opportunities for women.

Kim also hosted the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations walk.

Crispin Winser KC joined April Baynes (Trowers & Hamlins LLP) and Stephen Osuhor (CBBG Group) for a panel discussion moderated by Cheryl Cairns (Trowers & Hamlins LLP) to discuss the topic “Building bridges or burning them? Navigating international construction infrastructure disputes”.  This session explored key trends, challenges and strategies in infrastructure disputes in GCC arbitrations, drawing on practical insights and diverse perspectives.
