James Maxwell-Scott KC appointed Assistant Coroner
Chambers is delighted to announce that James Maxwell-Scott KC has been appointed as an Assistant Coroner for Hertfordshire. James will sit in Hatfield approximately 4 weeks per year after his appointment was approved by the Lord Chancellor and the Chief Coroner.
James will carry out this part-time appointment alongside his public inquiry and inquest practice at the Bar. He is currently instructed as Leading Counsel for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in the Cranston Inquiry and the Ministry of Justice in the COVID-19 Inquiry.
James will continue to sit part-time as a Recorder in the Crown Court and, as a barrister, to act in criminal regulatory cases, in particular those involving Health & Safety, fire safety and nuclear safety.
