Mark Balysz KC secures the acquittal of crane operator
Mark Balysz KC secures the acquittal of a crane operator alleged to have been responsible for the death of his colleague. The client was found not guilty after a two week trial at Hove Crown Court. He was charged with failing to take reasonable care for the safety of the deceased. The incident, which occurred in 2019, involved the dropping of a load being lifted. Tragically the deceased slinger had not moved sufficiently away. The client was initially investigated for gross negligence manslaughter before the case was transferred to the HSE in 2022. Mark was instructed by Colin Moore and Nancy Wesby at DAC Beachcroft.
