Chambers is delighted to announce that His Majesty the King has appointed Matthew Boyle to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP, and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
Matthew will be deployed to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Inner London Crown Court with effect from 9 October 2023, and he will be known as His Honour Judge Boyle.
Matthew was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 2000 and admitted as an ad eundem member of Lincoln’s Inn in 2023. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2019.
Matthew has been a member of Crown Office Chambers for 22 years, and Chambers wishes to thank him for his very great contribution to Chambers’ life, and for his friendship, and sends the warmest congratulations and very best wishes of all members for his future happiness in his new role.
