Martyn Berkin appeared for the Rose and Crown Hotel in Wisbeach, where SERCO on behalf of the Government have accommodated 21 people seeking asylum, resisting an application by Fenland, the local authority, for an interim injunction under s.187B Town & Country Planning Act 1990, restraining the use of the hotel for the purpose of accommodating asylum seekers allegedly in breach of planning control.
Many similar cases are pending. The injunction was refused.
