Kim Franklin KC and Frederick Simpson recently participated in the “International Arbitration: Virtual Hearing Workshop” hosted by Stevens & Bolton, in conjunction with the South East Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
The workshop took a scenario of a contractual dispute concerning the international sale of goods and the mock hearing:
- adopted the procedural guidelines of CIArb and others for remote arbitration hearings
- was conducted under the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) Rules
- had legal and procedural issues argued before a panel of arbitrators who determined the issues and explained their reasoning
