Ben Quiney KC and Carlo Taczalski act for one of the Defendants in Rowe & Ors v Ingenious Media Holdings Plc & Ors, instructed by Kennedys LLP.
The Ingenious group of companies, which has helped finance blockbusters such as Avatar, is facing claims of fraudulent misrepresentation and mis-selling investments in a range of films and other media productions. A number of advisors, including UBS and Coutts, have also been accused of professional negligence for recommending the investments to the investors ranging from bankers to professional footballers, who went on to invest in one or more of the finance schemes. The Claimants, who in total number over 300, estimate that they have suffered losses that exceed £100m.
The case was listed as one of The Lawyers Top 20 cases of 2018.
