Mark Balysz has secured the acquittal of Francis Brown Limited
Mark Balysz has secured the acquittal of Francis Brown Limited at Middlesborough Crown Court. The steel fabrication company, founded in 1903, was tried for breaching regulation 16 of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, following the fatal electrocution of an employee. At the close of the prosecution case the judge directed an acquittal, ruling that even though the deceased was an employee, the company’s control over the electrical works had not been established.
