In the fifth week of an eight week trial the Environment Agency abandoned their entire case against the company. Not Guilty verdicts were recorded in respect of 8 counts relating to a pollution incident on the River Trent and the subsequent investigation.
The Prosecution decided to offer no evidence before the close of their case. The Defendants were awarded their costs.
