Members of Crown Office Chambers undertake all forms of common law claims in negligence and nuisance, particularly those involving issues of public liability and statutory duty. These include interference with property rights, pollution and environmental claims, and disputes relating to radioactivity or the contamination of land. An important aspect of this work also involves highway claims. A large number of fire claims are also undertaken. Chambers has extensive experience in the policy construction aspects of such claims, and in associated causation and quantum issues. Several members specialise in public inquiry work and in town and country planning. The latter has involved major infrastructure projects (including mineral and waste sites and all aspects of local plan formulation). Individual members have particular expertise in other areas of law, including administrative and public law, actions against prosecuting authorities, banking, employment, and VAT. Clients are asked to consult individual entries for further details. CVs are available on request.
