Adjudication Support Service
Crown Office Chambers offers an adjudication support service comprising barristers who have extensive experience of adjudication. They are familiar with the time limits within which documentation is required and are aware of the benefits and pitfalls of the process. They have ready access to the rapidly growing body of jurisprudence and legal commentary on construction adjudication and the application of the Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996. They are able, at short notice, to apply their knowledge and experience in the early stages of a dispute before comprehensive instructions are available.
The Adjudication Support Service provides the following services:
- The immediate and dedicated services of a barrister, with experience to match the demands of the case, at a competitive hourly rate commensurate with the nature of the dispute. Whilst a junior barrister will be appropriate for most cases, access to leading counsel for advice or representation is available when required.
- The barrister can travel to solicitors’ or clients’ offices, and will commit to working as part of the team, for the hours necessary, including evenings and weekends, to meet the requisite deadlines.
- The barrister will be able to work in electronic format, either on location or remotely by e-mail.
- Services include:
- Attending meetings with clients or witnesses and document management
- Drafting letters, notices, submissions and statements
- Advising on legal issues, such as contract interpretation, natural justice, jurisdiction and the enforceability of the Adjudicator’s decision.
